Volunteering

If you feel you have something to offer Ben's Centre or are looking to gain valuable experience to work in this area of social care, we sometimes offer volunteer opportunities. Each role is tailored to your needs and current level of skill. We also offer training and development opportunities and can support people looking both personally and professionally.

Vacant roles:

Day Centre Volunteer

We are currently looking for day centre volunteers to support staff during the provision of the day service at Ben’s Centre. This is a client-facing role that involves chatting with clients, serving hot drinks & refreshments, assisting staff during lunch service, and generally being a friendly face for our vulnerable clients. No qualifications are required, however past experience working with substance users, rough sleepers or vulnerable people is a big plus. A DBS check will be provided for successful applicants.

We currently are looking for volunteers who are available on Wednesdays or Thursdays, between 10am-2:30pm.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Interested? Get in touch at teresa@benscentre.org with a brief description of yourself, any relevant experience, and why you think you’d be suited for the role.

Read what Noor had to say about her time at ben’s centre

“ My time at Ben’s Centre was a truly wonderful experience. The team immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable and I made special relationships with a lot of the clients. It is a place like no other offering a stable and comforting environment for clients and staff and I am grateful to have been a part of it. Ben’s truly does feel like a sanctuary and I learnt so much in my time there. I felt like I was part of something special and valued every minute. Places like Ben’s Centre show there is hope and kindness in the world and for this I want to thank everyone I met there. “

Noor was a university student here on placement for two months.
